D.I.Y. - Black Lace Bracelet Tutorial

♫ Charice - As Long As You're There (Glee Cast version)

Today I'm going to show you how to make a simple DIY lace bracelet (or bangle, if you want to be specific).

From plain to pretty!

I have a bunch of bangles bought from Isetan during its sales a couple of weeks back, and there were several same ones, so I decided to modify a couple of them.^^"

Too many! O_o

So first, you need to prepare some things.

Materials:
  • Plain bangle
  • Scissors
  • UHU glue or any other strong liquid adhesive
  • Lace of your choice
  • Butterfly embellishments (optional)
Directions:
  1. Spread the glue section by section on the bangle. Start with spreading 1/4 of the bangle with UHU glue.
  2. Let the glue dry for about 30 seconds, then stick on the lace.
  3. Repeat until the whole bangle is lined with the lace.
  4. Cut off the ends. Try to cut it so the ends align with the pattern of the lace. You're basically done here, but if you think the part where the lace ends meet looks a bit messy, continue on to step 5.
  5. Dab a spot of glue on the joined sections of lace, and also dab a spot of glue on the back of the butterfly. Let the glue dry for 30 seconds, then stick the butterfly to the joined section of lace.
Yay! Project completed! ^^

You don't have to put the butterfly, or substitute it with flowers or something else.

If you're pleased with just the lace on the bangle and the part where the ends join aren't very messy, you don't have to add any embellishments to cover it up. Otherwise, you can substitute the butterfly with flowers, bows, or whatever you like. :)

These are some of the lace I have collected over the years. I wanted to use the purple+pink (top) one for my bangle, but it was just slightly too short. *sobs*

Hope you enjoy this mini-tutorial, and do remember to leave a comment or link about your own projects!
