Fashion Culture Box (June 2014) Colours of the World - Harajuku Girls

♫ Akdong Musician (AKMU) - Give Love

I cannot believe it's already July; cheers to a great second half of the year!  (。⌒∇⌒)。

To kick off the start of a brand new month, here's my sizzlin' fresh, hot-out-of-the-oven review of Fashion Culture Box's June 2014 edition. The theme for June was "Colours of the World", with 3 styles to choose from: Viva la Brasil, Harajuku Girls and K-Pop Mania.

You'd probably guess that I'd pick the K-Pop Mania box due to my slight obsession with K-Pop songs, but in truth, my fashion style leans more towards pastel/cute stuff, so naturally I picked the Harajuku Girls box. Let's find out what's inside, shall we? (✿◠‿◠)

Unlike previous installments of Fashion Culture Box, you'll notice that the FCZine is no longer included in the box. This is because FCB has decided to reduce cost by publishing it online, which also helps to save the environment! Two birds with one stone, eh? ;)

In this month's box, I received 5 items:
  • Lolita bow hair clip
  • Decora earrings
  • Hikaru ring
  • Kinchaku bag
  • Bloop nail art set (nail polish, nail sticker, striping tape; sponge and dotting tool not pictured)
The Lolita bow hair clip is seriously cute with its sweet coral colour, polka dot design and plastic diamante center; what I did not expect was how BIG it would be!

According to the FCZine, there are 3 variants for the Decora earrings. I received the electric pink (neon coral) ones. I'm normally not one for such loud earrings but these are pretty awesome. :D

The Hikaru ring is one of my favourites from this box. The pretty main ring is linked to a dainty midi ring by a delicate chain. (❣◕ ‿ ◕❣) The best part? The main ring is adjustable, so even those with sausage fingers like moi are able to wear it!

The star item of the Harajuku Girls box would be the Kinchaku bag, which is a draw-string bag traditionally worn with a kimono. Instead of the usual floral designs, the FCB team have specially chosen a simple and modern design so that we can easily incorporate it into our daily OOTDs. (。◕‿◕。)
A modern take on the traditional Japanese bag
Last but not least, the Bloop nail art set, which includes a nail polish, nail stickers, and striping tape. (Sponge and dotting tool not pictured.) I was really glad to receive a sweet pink nail polish shade, as well as cute heart nail stickers and a hot pink striping tape. FCB and Bloop are having a nail art competition, and I'm definitely thinking up some cute manicures to enter!

Even more good news? Starting from July, the monthly subscription fee for FCB has been reduced to RM50/box instead of RM58! (≧∇≦) I estimate my Harajuku Girls box to be worth more than RM120, so you're definitely getting your money's worth of accessories!

MITCH: Yes! I don't have anything like it in my closet. :)

Sabrina: Agree! I've been wearing it (almost) every time I go out these past few weeks. ^^
