Customized Facial and Slimming Experience With Mayfair Bodyline

[This is a sponsored post.]

Hello, my pretty peeps! ♥ With the recent holidays and Raya festivities, I'm sure more than a few of us are feeling a bit guilty from indulging in a little too much good food, eh? Well, fret not, because Mayfair Bodyline has the perfect solution to help you love yourself a little more! (◕‿◕✿)

With over 29 years of history in the slimming, beauty and spa industry, Mayfair Bodyline is one of Malayia's most established homegrown total beauty salon, with 31 outlets nationwide. Their services merge advanced facial and slimming technologies, professional staff, and cozy well-equipped facilities to provide you with the best treatment and relaxing experience, with results that you will be proud to flaunt.

Mayfair Bodyline recently relocated their Pavilion outlet to the newly-opened Beauty Hall at the 7th floor. I was able to try out a customized facial and slimming treatment there, so I'm here to share the experience with you! :) Upon setting foot inside Mayfair Bodyline, you will be greeted warmly by the staff. I was served a cup of tea, and then brought to a small corner with lockers to store my personal belongings and shoes.

A consultant then ushered me into a room for a facial skin analysis. First, my skin was checked to determine my skin type and what sort of treatment would be the best. As my skin was found to be quite dry with some blackhead problems, the consultant recommended that I try the MediJet Face treatment to hydrate, reduce wrinkles/fine lines and repair skin texture.

Skin analysis for facial
Next, my measurements (weight, height, body fat %) were taken using a special scale, then I was ushered into another room, and another consultant (this time for body treatment) asked me some questions to determine what type of body slimming treatment would be suitable for me. After a short discussion, she came up with a customized treatment consisting of their revolutionary Slim Master, CLA Chili Slimming, and Heat Circulation treatment.

After that, I was led by my aesthetician of the day, Yuki, to a cozy treatment room, where I would be doing the customized treatments that were discussed earlier. I took a peek into several of the other treatment rooms, and they were all furnished in a similarly simple but cozy manner. It also helped that they had very nice ambient lighting and played soothing spa-like music throughout the place, haha!

Treatment room
I started with the MediJet Face treatment, which is a needle-free technique replaced by electric wave injection. The electric penetrating technique generates fixed pulse currents to expand the pores for more efficient nutrient delivery. The serum (personalized to suit skin type) is then able to penetrate the skin for up to 6cm deep into the subcutaneous tissue. The benefits of this MediJet Face include:
  • Improve skin texture and pale skin tone
  • Reduce fine lines and aged/collapsed skin
  • Lighten acne and scarring on sensitive skin
  • Lighten pigmentation and skin discoloration
  • Rejuvenate dehydrated, dull oily skin
  • Cellulite breakdown with weight loss products
As I had applied some makeup and worn contacts, Yuki suggested I remove the contacts first, and then helped to cleanse and remove all traces of makeup before proceeding with the facial. One thing that really impressed me was that they had contact lens cases and solution prepared for their clients (in case of situations like mine). *thumbs up* (≧∇≦)b The MediJet Face treatment itself took less than 30mins, and did not cause any discomfort. After that, a facial sheet mask soaked in serum was applied and left on for 15-20 mins. It was so relaxing and comfortable that I actually dozed off at this point. ♪(◡‿◡)♫

Before & After MediJet Face treatment
After the facial treatment, it was time for the body slimming treatment. First is the Slim Master (machine) treatment. The Slim Master uses intensive ultra-sound that creates and generates micro-bubbles which hits the surface of fat cells to emulsify them. It is then absorbed by the lymphatic system and drainage system to be eliminated from the body. It also stimulates the body to increase secretion of LPL enzyme which decomposes the fatty acids into energy. Basically, the effects you can see (even within a single session!) is a visibly 'slimmer' shape. I can haz waistline! :P

Before & After Slim Master treatment
Once the Slim Master treatment was done, I was given the CLA Chili Slimming and Heat Circulation treatment, which are done together for maximum effectiveness. The CLA Chili Slimming treatment is one of Mayfair’s most popular and successful treatment, and also one of the first in Malaysia to start it. With the essence extracted from chili pepper seeds, the active elements in capsicum can effectively and rapidly stimulate the decomposition and excretion of the body fats. The cream (which smelled chili-like) was applied on the targeted problem areas i.e. arms, stomach and thighs and then wrapped tightly in cling wrap. Subsequently, a heat blanket for the Heat Circulation treatment was spread on the 'bed' and I had to lay in it with the chili wrap. The heat blanket helps in relieving muscle stress, improving blood circulation and reducing fluid retention. Heat + chili cream = a hot experience! The more you sweat while in it, the better it is. ;)
Wrapped up like a hot popiah, haha!
It was definitely a great, not to mention very comfortable and relaxing, experience for me at Mayfair Bodyline. Yuki (the aesthetician who did my treatments) was very friendly, so we had fun chatting while she also explained the functions of each treatment and answered my questions regarding the procedures and products used.

It's important for you to love and pamper yourself. Mayfair Bodyline knows how important that is, and is now having a promotion where you can have 5 slimming/facial treatments at only RM29!

Review: NYX Black Label Lipstick in "Heather" (BLL 182)

♫ 陈奕迅 - 十年

I've previously shared my review of the Black Label lipstick in Socialite, so today I'll be showing you another one from the same range - Heather (BLL 182).

NYX Black Label Lipstick in "Heather" (BLL 182)

As with all the other NYX Black Label lipsticks, it is packaged in a silvery-black box and plastic casing with black lace designs on the sides. Although the plastic feels quite light, it does the job of protecting the lipstick from occasional klutzy situations and major bumps. One of its most user-friendly points is the clear base, which lets you identify individual shades (if you have several of them).

NYX Black Label Lipstick in "Heather" (BLL 182)

According to the NYX website, Heather is described as a 'neutral mid-tone pink' cream lipstick, which I think is pretty spot-on. It's a gorgeous pink shade that will look lovely on most skin tones. I previously mentioned that the stock photos on the website aren't true to colour, but Heather is an exception, as it is very similar to the colour shown in the website. My camera just couldn't manage to get the exact colour to show up. (T_T)

Stock photo (source) and actual product
NYX Black Label Lipstick in "Heather" (BLL 182)

Most of the Black Label lipsticks tend to show up lighter on my lips (natural light and my camera also washed out some of the colour >_<), but they are actually very opaque even in one swipe.

NYX Black Label Lipstick in "Heather" (BLL 182)

The formula for this lipstick is impeccable as always; smooth, opaque, and moisturizing. Oh, and don't forget the grape soda scent, which I personally like, but it dissipates after you apply it, so no worries for those who don't like fragrances. It's not very long-lasting though, with average wear of 2-4 hours, depending on your eating/snacking/drinking habits. :P

Heather is a very fresh and wearable lip colour for day, especially if you love pink shades like me. (๑>◡<๑)  Just like the name suggests, it's a sweet, lovely pink that isn't too striking yet brings some colour into your lips. Also, wouldn't it be just the perfect lipstick if you have a friend named Heather? (。⌒∇⌒)。

NYX Black Label Lipstick in "Heather" (BLL 182) lauraleia

✓ Pros: Huge variety of colours available, opaque colour, moisturizing, velvety sheen finish, easy to identify individual shades from lipstick base, lovely design on packaging.
✗ Cons: Plastic packaging is very light and might feel slightly 'cheap', has grape soda scent that might not appeal to all, only sold/available online.

Review: NYX Black Label Lipstick in "Socialite" (BLL 178)

♫ Magic - B.o.B ft. Rivers Cuomo
If you've read my past reviews of these NYX Black Label lipsticks, it will be no surprise to you that I have nothing but praise for these babies. ;)

NYX Black Label Lipstic
Thanks to a voucher I'd won from Instagram some time back, I managed to pick up a few more of them in my last MySale purchase, including Summer in Hampton, Sweet Prawn, Socialite and Heather. For today, I'll be sharing my swatches and review of Socialite.

NYX Black Label Lipstick BLL 178 Socialite (lauraleia)
NYX Black Label Lipstick BLL 178 Socialite
As I'd mentioned before in my previous reviews, the NYX Black Label lipsticks are packaged in a sleek silvery-black box and tube, with pretty black lace designs printed on the sides. The casing, made from plastic, feels very lightweight, but is fairly sturdy and can withstand a few bumps. One of the best features is the clear base at the bottom, which allows you to identify the shade in a sea of lipsticks, ha!

NYX Black Label Lipstick BLL 178 Socialite (lauraleia)
NYX Black Label Lipstick BLL 178 Socialite
Socialite is described as a plum-red shade with a creme finish (no shimmer). From experience, it is best not to judge the Black Label lipsticks from the colour shown in the website, as they usually are quite different when seen in real life. I had searched for swatches on this particular shade before purchasing, so I knew it would be much darker than in the stock photos.

NYX Black Label Lipstick BLL 178 Socialite (lauraleia)
Stock photo (source) vs Actual product
Despite the disparity between the stock photo and actual lipstick shade, I am still glad I picked Socialite, because it is indeed a very pretty colour. It looks quite a dauntingly deep shade in the tube, but applied on the lips it is a very wearable plum red shade. Not as bright as a true red, but neither as vampy as a deep plum; it strikes a nice balance between the two.

Due to the name of the lipstick (it is called Socialite after all), I decided to pair it with a slightly more sophisticated look, hence the black lace dress and diamante necklace. What do you think? (◡‿◡✿)

NYX Black Label Lipstick BLL 178 Socialite (lauraleia)

NYX Black Label Lipstick BLL 178 Socialite (lauraleia)

Once again, I am impressed by this NYX Black Label lipstick. I find the Black Label lipsticks to be very pigmented, glide smoothly onto the lips, and are very moisturizing even when worn without a lip balm. They typically wear for an average of 2-4 hours depending on your eating/drinking habits. I also love the grape soda scent, and with the huge variety of colours to choose from, there will definitely be one (or ten) that will suit you. My only gripe is that they are only available online from overseas, which makes it quite pricey to ship to Malaysia.

[Bonus]
Here is a swatch comparison of the 3 new Black Label lipsticks that I got from my haul (I sold Sweet Prawn to a friend). There will be a separate review for each, but this is just a quick look at all three together, as they do look fairly similar, especially Summer in Hampton and Heather.

GEO HoliCat Lovely Cat Choco Lens from LoveShoppingholics.com

♫ Boys Republic (소년공화국) - 예쁘게 입고 나와 (Dress Up)

Happy Friday, lovely peeps! (✿◠‿◠)
Are you looking forward to the weekend? I sure am!

Once again, thanks to LoveShoppingholics.com, I got the chance to try out a different pair of GEO HoliCat lenses. This time around, I picked the GEO HoliCat Lovely Cat Choco lenses.

I have nothing but ♥ for their packaging. The parcels from LoveShoppingholics always come in a cute little plastic bag, with a small thank you note, free lens case, and your lenses wrapped securely in bubble wrap. This time around, they even included a cute little hand mirror in my parcel!

All the HoliCat series have artwork by pop artist Mari Kim on the packaging, which corresponds to the lens name and colour. The Lovely Cat Choco lens features a sweet pink box and girly girl design, giving it a very cute girl-next-door kind of vibe. :)

Lens details on the back
Authentic GEO lenses are made in Korea
All information regarding the contact lens, including manufacturing date, expiry date, diameter, contents, precautions and contact details can be found on the back of the box. There's also a small window for you to see how the lens looks like, as well as an authenticity sticker for you to verify on the GEO website. As for the place of origin/manufacturing, the lenses are made in Korea, and is stated on the side of the box.

The HoliCat lenses are packaged in blister packs, which make them more convenient and safer to open than those in glass vials. Even though they are noted as monthly disposable lenses, I find that they can be used for up to 2 months with proper care and cleaning. (Do note that if you wear them on a daily basis, it is best to follow the stated usage period.)

The GEO HoliCat Lovely Cat Choco lens are described as lenses that have a 'thick choco line and light brown color to express lovely baby cat eyes'. While the grammar on the official site has room for improvement (my inner grammar Nazi had edited the description), I grasp the meaning that these Lovely Cat Choco lenses are supposed to give you a lovely, sweet and coy (kitten-like) appearance while wearing them. Indeed, the dark brown irregular outer ring, and a lighter brown inner ring give it a very natural look (even more natural than the Grang Grang lenses).

Without lens; natural lighting; camera flash
GEO HoliCat Lovely Cat Choco
As you can see from the photos above, the GEO HoliCat Lovely Cat Choco lens blends perfectly with my dark brown Asian eyes, and it looks like I'm not even wearing contact lenses! The 14.5mm diameter adds to the au naturel effect, giving my irises a slight enlargement effect without looking too dolly or anime-like. In terms of comfort, I would rate these as very comfortable; I did not need to use eye drops even after wearing them the whole day. (。⌒∇⌒)。

Wore them in my recent Etude House lipstick review too! ♪
You can purchase the HoliCat series from LoveShoppingholics.com, as well as a huge range of other contact lenses, cosmetics and fashion accessories. What's more, they have FREE SHIPPING for orders over $50, and a free animal lens case with every pair of circle lens! (。✪‿✪。)

Review: Etude House My Blooming Lips-Talk in Etude Pink (Limited Edition)

♫ Redbone - Come and Get Your Love
(Warning: Picture-heavy post ahead!)

etude house my blooming lips etude pink limited edition
Etude House My Blooming Lips-Talk Limited Edition Etude Pink
Earlier last month, Etude House released a new, limited edition version of their My Blooming Lips-Talk lipstick in the shade Etude Pink. One look at the promotional pictures (thanks to Michelle's update), and my inner voice had hearts in her eyes while yelling 'Get it! Get it!'.

Krystal is so pretty~ ❣◕ ‿ ◕❣
So got it I did, thanks to a friend who was visiting Korea. (๑>◡<๑) I've never been so infatuated with a lipstick since the Peripera lipsticks. This limited edition offering from Etude House has definitely got me seeing pink!
Etude House My Blooming Lips-Talk Limited Edition Etude Pink
I do not own any of the My Blooming Lip-Talk lipsticks from Etude House, so I can't really compare them, but one thing's for sure - it's packaged very differently from the regular range. Besides the Etude 'E' seal and glittery tulle accent, the Etude Pink version is packaged in a beautiful little box that adds extra oomph to its overall presentation. I particularly love how the princessy design (think jewels, bows, ribbons, pearls, lace) is illustrated both on the outside and inside of the box. Pictures below.

Never throwing the box away. Never. ಠ_ಠ
etude house my blooming lips etude pink limited edition
So much pink!
Of course, you just can't ignore how pretty the lipstick packaging is. There's a certain je ne sais quoi about the vintage-style filigree seal and exquisitely delicate-looking glitter tulle that calls out to our inner girly girl, not to mention the light pink plastic tube that has a slight pearly sheen. Like the other Etude House lipsticks, the middle [seal-and-tulle] part can be removed, but honestly, do you even want to? (⌒_⌒;)
etude house my blooming lips etude pink limited edition
You can remove the middle part and use it as a ring or (mini) hair tie
Now, moving on from the packaging to the lipstick itself.

etude house my blooming lips etude pink limited edition

Unlike the usual Etude House lipsticks (where shades are given codes like PK001), this limited edition version is labelled Etude Pink. Essentially, it is the signature Etude House pink colour, made into a more wearable shade in lipstick form.

A cute little heart-carriage design is embossed on the side of the lipstick. As you can see, the lipstick itself is a sweet pink shade with some shimmer. Strangely enough, it leans warm in the tube but pulls cooler on the skin/lips. Swatches below.

You can see the slight shimmer here (click to enlarge)
As you can see from the swatches above and below, Etude Pink seems to have a warmer pink tinge in the tube and on white surfaces, but applies as a sheer and cool-toned pink on my skin and lips.

lauraleia winter blossoms blog
Me trying to imitate Krystal's pose (at the back) HAHAHAHA
To be honest, I was slightly disappointed by the sheerness of the lipstick. I expected it to be fairly opaque, judging from the promotional images and the look of the lipstick itself, but it turned out to be a sheer, shimmery pink shade. Don't get me wrong, it's a very pretty shade, and perfect for that cute, princessy look; it just falls a little flat in terms of opacity. If I had to describe/compare it to my other lippies, I'd say it would be somewhere between the Anna Sui Lip Rouge D373 (less sheer, less glittery, smaller shimmer) and Peripera My Color Lips 04 Holy Pink (a sheerer version).

etude house my blooming lips etude pink limited edition

If you don't mind the sheerness and slight shimmer, this is a fairly suit-all shade for warm or cool skin tones. I wouldn't really recommend it for those with darker lips/skin tones though. Texture-wise, the lipstick glides on smoothly without tugging on the lips, and feels quite moisturizing. Longevity is average (3-4 hours with minimal eating/drinking) and the lipstick doesn't stain, although it does leave some shimmer behind on the lips. There is a slight scent to the lipstick if you sniff it, but is not noticeable when applied on the lips. Make sure you prep your lips beforehand, as I find that it will show dry patches or lip lines.

lauraleia winter blossoms blog

The Etude House My Blooming Lips-talk lipstick in Etude Pink (Limited Edition) (3.4g) retails for 10,000₩ KRW in Korea. Availability is yet to be announced in South East Asia as of this posting.

✓ Pros: Gorgeous princessy packaging, affordable price (in KRW), pretty colour that suits warm/cool skin tones, doesn't stain lips, average longevity.
✗ Cons: Limited edition, availability yet unknown outside of S.Korea, sheer opacity, leaves slight shimmer on lips, will show dry patches/lip lines.

The bottom line? This Etude Pink lipstick may be on par with the Peripera ones in terms of packaging and presentation (heck, it's actually about 2% prettier), but it still won't take away their HG status in my book. ♪(◡‿◡)♫
