Review: Peripera My Color Lips in 21 Soul Pink

♫ Ronan Keating - When You Say Nothing At All

Welcome to the 6th installment of my Peripera My Color Lips lipstick review! ( ˘ ³˘)♥

This lipstick was bought from a beauty expo last October; I remember snapping pics for a review shortly after that but somehow never managed to get the blog post done. The pictures have been sitting in my memory card for long enough, so I decided I'd better make good use of them. (⌒_⌒;)

I'd been itching to get this particular shade of the Peripera My Color Lips lipstick, #21 Soul Pink, for a while, but it was either sold out or not worth the shipping fee from buying it online. Therefore, it was quite the serendipitous discovery when I spotted it being sold at one of the Korean cosmetics booths, and at a total bargain to boot!

I know I've gushed over the packaging countless times, but honestly - take a look at it and tell me it's not pretty. I dare you. The pink floral-embossed cover with silver accents. The sleek shiny metallic pink body. The cute little cookie-shaped base. The overall lacey pinky princessy feel of it.

Of course, these wouldn't be my HG lipsticks if they only looked pretty but were rubbish to use. The Peripera My Color Lips lipsticks are creamy, pigmented, and non-drying, with a lovely yet subtle rose scent. I've been suffering from slightly dry and flaky lips lately, so they do show lip lines and other imperfections when applied straight from the tube. Luckily this can be remedied by using a lip brush to smooth out any lines or uneven patches.

Lip swatch: Peripera My Color Lips in 21 Soul Pink
#21 Soul Pink is a muted, slightly mauve-tinged rose red shade with very fine shimmer when seen from the tube (quite similar to #10 Rose Pink but a bit brighter). On my lips, it pulls slightly more pinkish, and the fine shimmer is all but noticeable.

✓ Pros: Gorgeous packaging, great colour payoff, lovely rose scent, moisturizing formula, generous amount of product (3.5g), wide variety of colours, good lasting power.
✗ Cons: Packaging is bulky, higher price point, not easily available outside of Korea, colour will settle into lines on dry lips.

Update: I think that the Peripera My Color Lips lipstick range have been discontinued, as they are becoming increasingly difficult to source online, even on Gmarket Korea. However, this is just my assumption based on my own observations online, so if you have any solid information, please feel free to let me know! :)

Isabel: IKR It's too pretty to be discontinued >_<

Blair: Haha thank you! ^_^ I admit, I was drawn to it just because of the packaging, lol. It's not sold in our local Watson's, and Singapore Watson's also doesn't seem to stock it anymore. T_T

HaeMin: I totally agree! :D I absolutely love the girly lacey design of the lipstick case, haha~

The color is gorgeous! No matter how many times I saw the packaging, it's still the best lacey design on lipstick I ever seen :D
